Jose Ibarra, the illegal alien who’s been charged in the brutal slaying of University of Georgia student Laken Riley and who is currently on trial for capital murder, has been confirmed to be a member of the notoriously violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, according to NewsNation.

According to Ali Bradley, a NewsNation correspondent who covers the Southwest U.S. border, Ibarra was finally verified as a TdA member after months of speculation.

"DHS sources just confirmed to me that the suspect in the murder of Georgia nursing student, Laken Riley is a confirmed member of Tren de Aragua—Until now it was considered speculation," Bradley reported in a post on X.

Tren de Aragua has gained notoriety over the past few months as the infamously brutal transnational gang currently terrorizing apartment complexes and run-down hotels in Colorado and Texas, despite Democrats' insistence that the problem isn't a threat to the general public and is relegated to a few "slums" that didn't much matter in the first place.

Ibarra, now 26, entered the United States illegally in 2022 under the Biden/Harris administration’s open-border policies and was released into the country by DHS reportedly due to a lack of space in the local border detention facility. He was arrested months later in New York City with “acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation,” but was released without notification to immigration officials due to the city’s sanctuary policies protecting illegal aliens. He then traveled to Georgia reportedly on a taxpayer-funded flight, where he allegedly attacked Riley while the 22-year-old nursing student was out for a jog, attempting to rape her before bludgeoning her to death with a rock. Police say the attack was so brutal, Riley’s skull was left “disfigured” from the trauma. Her body was found near her jogging route, having been dragged to a “secluded area,” according to prosecutors.

Ibarra has been charged with one count of malice murder and three counts of felony murder, as well as kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, hindering an emergency telephone call, tampering with evidence and peeping Tom. Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence without the possibility of parole, during which taxpayers will be on the hook to fund Ibarra’s shelter and meals for the rest of his pathetic life.

But if anyone's looking for cheaper suggestions, I have a few.
