Democrats are still infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), President-elect Donald Trump’s press secretary said Wednesday, reacting to their treatment of his nominees during this week’s Senate confirmation hearings.
"If we’ve learned anything over the last 48 hours, it's that Democrats have not yet found a cure to Trump Derangement Syndrome and their party is still in complete disarray,” Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters in an interview.
Displaying symptoms of TDS, Democrat senators used their questioning of the nominees to continue to attack Trump, rather than to verify the qualifications of his picks, Leavitt noted:
“If you listen to their line of questioning, they are not interested in solutions to the problems that the American people are facing. They are not interested in the qualifications of these highly-qualified nominees that President Trump has put before them. No.
“They’re still asking about January 6 and the 2020 election results.”
What’s more, “They’re not even interested in the answers from these nominees,” Leavitt said, praising the way Trump’s nominees responded to the Democrats’ attacks, accusations, smears and Trump conspiracy theories:
“They just roll over them. Pete Hegseth knocked it out of the park yesterday. Pam Bondi. Senator Rubio. Ratcliffe. They were all fantastic.”
Trump has nominated Hegseth for secretary of defense, Rubio for secretary of state, Bondi for attorney general, and Ratcliffe to head the CIA.
Leavitt said she’s confident the nominees will be confirmed – and predicted that even some Democrats will “come out of the woodworks” to vote to confirm Trump’s picks.
Visionary billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk provided his own take on Trump Derangement Syndrome Thursday.
“Is there any recorded case of someone coming back from stage 5 TDS?” Musk asked, singling out Vice President Kamala Harris, in a post on his social media platform X.com.
“There is no cure at this point,” Musk answered in a graphic featuring Harris, Trump’s failed Democrat opponent in the 2024 presidential race.
