Every now and then, a viral meme on social media transcends the internet and people start trying to recreate the video in real life. The “Trump Dance” video is one such example.
It all started when president-elect Donald Trump starting doing a simplistic hip-shake dance move whenever the song “YMCA” would play at his campaign rallies. He started doing it as early as the 2020 election, but he brought it back for the 2024 campaign.
Like a lot of things relating to Trump, it instantly became viral. But thanks to several high-profile athletes, it’s now taking the sports world by storm.
It started when San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa busted out the dance moves after recording a sack in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 10.

(As an aside, it’s nice to see a player from the same organization that Colin Kaepernick, the godfather of woke athletics of this era, turning sports in the right direction).
On Saturday night, Jon Jones continued the trend by celebrating in the same fashion after winning his match in UFC 309.

The very next day, three separate NFL players broke out the Trump dance after making a big play - Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, and Lions defensive stars Za’Darius Smith and Malcom Rodriguez.

As if that weren’t enough sign of a major shift in sports culture, USMNT forward Christian Pulisic - the captain of a wildly woke soccer team - busted out the dance move after scoring a fantastic goal in a Nations League match against Jamaica last night.

Who knew a simple dance to YMCA would win Trump the culture? 😂 pic.twitter.com/o3qngTmWBc
Aside from the way this has taken over the NFL, this example is the most encouraging to me because it signifies a massive turnaround from how the USMNT used to operate.
The move even caught on in women’s golf, when Charlie Hull at an LPGA event on Saturday.

But this isn’t just a trend in the state. Across the pond, players on the English soccer club Barnsley got in on the fun too.

And then there’s been too many examples in college football to keep track of, but there are a few in this video.

This is marking the complete and utter collapse of the hold that wokeness had on sports for the past several years. Sports are back to being based, and there’s nothing liberals can do about it.
Make sports great again!
