Elections have consequences. And, at least in this case, those consequences seem to be pretty good ones.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation quietly shut down its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs ahead of the incoming Trump administration, per a new report that broke Thursday.

Fox News Digital reports the agency told the online news network that “In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), effective by December 2024," the agency told Fox News Digital on Thursday.

The FBI’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion was first launched in 2012 under then-President Barack Obama to “provide guidance and implement programs that promote a diverse and inclusive workplace that allows all employees to succeed and advance,” the agency’s website states.

President-elect Donald Trump, his allies, and many of his cabinet nominees have been vocally critical of the FBI, accusing the agency of becoming a political partisan weapon and putting DEI initiatives ahead of its mission. Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn sent an open letter to the FBI and its director, Christopher Wray, accusing the agency of spending more time promoting “diversity” than actually doing its job, such as monitoring threats like the ISIS flag-flying terrorist who mowed down dozens of people during a New Years Eve celebration in New Orleans, leaving 14 people dead.

In her letter, Yahoo News reports:

Blackburn cited a recent report from a group of retired FBI agents who found "law enforcement and intelligence capabilities of the FBI are degrading because the FBI is no longer hiring ‘the best and the brightest’ candidates," as well as the hiring of a Chief Diversity Officer at the FBI in 2021, as well as the New Orleans field office hosting a "Diversity Agent Recruiting Event" in July as evidence of the agency’s heightened focus on DEI.

Now that the bureau has chopped the dead DEI weight off its back, maybe it can get back to its original job of protecting the American people - if they aren't too busy organizing SWAT raids on pro-life grandmas, that is.
